Badtoby--you mentioned in the new GPA thread that you've bought a pair of N1201-8A crossovers. What's left for your Model 19 restoration project? Do you have all the drivers/horns ready to go? Have you powered them up yet/any observations or pics to share?

Still looking for the 802's and my old wood working buddy,He's gone under the radar so if I get the 802's first I will throw them together just to hear how they sound. Was chasing some nice ones on ebay that had 511's but they ended while I was on my way home from the Van Halen show.My phone would not let me bid for some reason. If I can't find any with the original diaphragms the GPA's look like the way to go.

    Re: Model 19 Cabinets

If it were me, I'd definitely order the GPA drivers. If the guy down in NC wasn't such a wanker, I would have gone and picked up his cabinets and I'd be getting the GPA drivers for them and having a pair of 19's for my man cave. So, I'm still on the hunt for a pair of decent cabinets. If they don't show up by winter time, I might try to build one and see if I can handle it.... I'm sure it is NOT trivial.

There's a pair of 802's now on ebay.. Not a great deal though.. Foilcals look faded but not a big issue..The Frams look to be in nice shape though lead wires from the photos look good..

Thanks AB, Looking at the second photo of the diaphragms is that a crack next to the dome at say 1 to 2 o'clock? Hard to tell for sure could be lighting.

I'd definitely go for the pair with the loose tangerine. The other pair is at a pricepoint where i think it makes more sense to buy the new GPA drivers, IMO.

What type of wood are you using for the veener for these cabinets?

I like how to you changed the port hole so that there is an official left / right speaker. I like that. I recently made a set of Altec Model 19 cabinets from scratch and wish I would have done that.

    Keep up the good work.

Did you look into doing any bracing of the cabinets? It's hard to see in those pics, but looks like they don't have much/any bracing.
